At Nawa, our passionate and diverse team is united by a commitment to improving the lives in underserved communities. With this dedication, we are focused on furthering the mission of the Nawa Vision Care Foundation and are eager to collaborate with you to create a positive impact in the communities we serve. Our team consists of four professionals with varied expertise in banking, finance, international development, innovation, healthcare, and infrastructure development and construction.
Umutoni Midiburo

Founder
Umutoni has been living in the Netherlands with her husband and three children since 2008. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Business Economics and working as a banker by profession, she brings a unique perspective to her work for NAWA, having been born in Congo and raised in Zambia.
Umutoni has always dreamed of starting an organization dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable people. Embarking on this journey with NAWA is exactly what she has always wanted and finds incredibly exciting. She envisioned a better world and has worked wholeheartedly to bring that vision to life.
In her free time, Umutoni enjoys exploring new places, preparing delicious meals, and immersing herself in captivating books.
Lovis Shimo

Lovis originally comes from Rwanda and moved to the Netherlands as a young boy. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management and a Master's degree in Business Innovation. He joined NAWA out of his desire to help people and communities develop and thrive. He aims to contribute to the foundation through his skills, knowledge, and network.
Lovis is a passionate traveler who enjoys discovering new countries and cultures. He also has a great love for photography.
Magriet W. Dundas

Margriet was born in Suriname and has been living in the Netherlands since 2002. She began her life journey in a large family and was inspired by her father's dedication to serving the community. This background led her to become a nurse and later specialize in oncology. She has since gained many years of experience in healthcare. Margriet works has worked in a hospital and has been leading an outstanding home care organization since 2014.
Through her work with NAWA, Margriet hopes to contribute to the well-being of children and make a positive impact on their lives.
In her free time, Margriet enjoys cooking and is an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hilversum.
