What We Do
NAWA provides life-changing eyecare directly to the communities that need it the most. Through mobile clinics, school screenings, and women's empowerment initiatives, we are rewriting what access to vision health looks like.

Eyecare
Eyecare is one of the sectors in healthcare in many African countries that is still underserved. Good vision is indispensable when carrying out our daily duties. Uncorrected refractive errors, especially on children, whether myopia of hyperopia, with or without astigmatism, is often neglected while it is known to be one of the underlying reasons for poor school performance by school children. With this in mind, we want to contribute to the eyecare sector and reach many communities that are still underserved.

Education
The importance of eyecare is often undermined in underserved communities. We find it important to educate these communities on the benefits of good eyesight. We also find it important to train and coach the professionals we work with not only on the use of equipment but also on the trends in the sector.

Empowerment
One of the values of Nawa Vision Care is sustainability. We believe that if a community is empowered it will be able to sustain itself and not be dependent on help from outside. We are constantly focusing our efforts not only into basic eyecare for these underserved communites, but also making sure their members can maintain basic care long after we leave. We thrive on the lives we can change by providing a service that is outlook by many.
